PIE! I LOVE PIE!

There’s just something about the fruit-filled flaky crusted pastries that makes my heart swoon! (My mouth is actually watering just thinking about pie.)

Mini Heart Shaped Cherry Pies

I enjoy combining my love with pies and Valentine’s Day with these Heart Shaped Mini Cherry Pies!

Using store bought pie crusts and a heart-shaped cookie cutter is an easy way to make this treat Valentine’s Day ready. Canned cherry filling is just the CHERRY ON TOP! Ha! (I crack myself up!)

Mini Heart Shaped Cherry Pies

First, you simply roll out the refrigerated pie crust. Using a 4″ heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out an equal number of hearts. You can take the pie crust scraps and roll them out together to make more hearts.

Place half the hearts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. You’ll brush egg wash (made of egg and milk) along the edges of your hearts.

Add a small amount of the cherry pie filling in the center of the egg washed hearts.

Make a small x cut in the center of the remaining half of the hearts. Place an x heart on top of each filled heart and press and crimp the edges with a fork. Brush the sealed pie with egg wash and dust with sparkling sugar. Bake the pies for 14-16 minutes in a 350º oven until the crust is browned. Allow the pies to cool before eating (nothing worse than a burned tongue!).
